120VC - TLP

Transformational Leadership Program (TLP)

Ok, so you want to be a transformational leader, the kind of leader who gets things done and creates winning teams that deliver results. You don't want to waste your time doing things that don't matter, that burn out teams, and that overpromise and underdeliver. You want to level up your leadership skills and achieve personal and career growth, no matter the economic environment.

That's where the Transformational Leadership Program (TLP) comes in.  Led by 120VC Founder, Jason Scott, this online training is designed to help you gain purpose-driven, people-first, and outcome-obsessed project and team leadership principles and practices.

You'll learn how to apply agile, enterprise, product organizational change management, portfolio management, and program management disciplines through practical how-to teaching, guides, and templates.

At the end of the program, you'll have the skills and confidence to enable teams to consistently deliver what matters. You'll become the kind of leader that companies will fight to hire, and teams will want to work with. Plus, you'll earn PMI 47 PDUs/CEUs.

Don't be a note taker, a process wonk, a time cop, a 'yes person', a hack, an imposter, a middle manager of mediocrity, or a corporate commodity.  Be a transformational leader who gets sh*t done.

Throughout my career in leadership, I have attended many workshops, classes, and certifications on leading better OR driving results. I have never had a class experience that binds the two together with one critical foundational piece – Being Human. The class blends neuroscience, leadership theory, process, and best practices simply and effectively with coursework that…

About the instructor

"Don’t waste your time doing things that don’t matter. That doesn't deliver an impact. That burns out teams. That over promise and under deliver. Hope is not a strategy. If you don’t change things up, you’ll keep getting the same results. Like Einstein said, that’s crazy. Instead, become the go-to transformational leader who can confidently enable teams to consistently deliver what matters." - J. Scott

Everyone should take this course

Throughout my career in leadership, I have attended many workshops, classes, and certifications on leading better OR driving results. I have never had a class experience that binds the two together with one critical foundational piece - Being Human. The class blends neuroscience, leadership theory, process, and best practices simply and effectively with coursework that empowers you to retain and engage. You are set up to hold yourself accountable for your success in the class, and that is a powerful lesson to take back to your team. I would recommend this class to anyone, regardless if they work in project management or not (because we are all driving results, right?).

Ted Talks that Walk the Walk

As a more junior Creative Project Manager working at a startup, there were a lot of opportunities to learn new skills at my company but no concrete means of learning how to be a great leader. Being held responsible for other team members during the onset of remote working, and the inevitable truth that it would be here to stay, assured asynchronous working styles would remain a necessary adaptation of daily professional life. I was skeptical the class would be a series of theoretical nonsense, but was ecstatic to find that the foundations of all the lessons were actual practices upheld by 120vc, married to principles and lectures from some of today’s most critically-acclaimed leaders. Furthermore, these practices are applicable to a transferable methodology that will assure the project keeps moving forward! I’ve already recommended TLP to some of my peers, and I'll keep doing so.

Do it because it is the right thing to do.

120V's TLP is full of simple truths about leadership and project management that are either typically forgotten or go against the grain at many companies. One of our cohort's running themes was "do it because it is the right thing to do." When I start putting the lessons from the TLP into practice, even though my employer did not require them, I began to stand out as someone who knew how to get the right things done.

Inspiration and Fresh Ideas

I am a Sr. leader of an organization and leading the third PMO of my career. I like to think of myself as being an effective leader that has established PMO's that bring value to the organizations I've been in. Joining this class, however, inspired me to take a new look at myself, my skills and ways that I can improve. I haven't been this challenged in quite a while and my team has noticed the changes in me. I also had some stubborn ideas about process challenged in this class which have led to some very positive changes in our PMO methodology. I chose this class because it sounded interesting and I needed PDU's for my PMP certification. Instead I found relationships, inpspiration, and an organization I know I will stay connected with and learn from for quite some time. Thanks Jason!

Foundations and beyond

As someone who has transitioned into the project management space this was an incredibly useful and informative course. I come from a background heavy in agile methodology, which can sometimes mean "we don't have a plan, it's done when it's done". This course not only showed me how to organize my work and my team but it allowed me to leverage the best parts of agile in an enterprise project management world. I also loved the leadership portions of this course, as they really changed my perspective on how to be an impactful leader no matter what role you're in. An added bonus was being able to connect with people around the country with unique jobs and incredible perspectives. Overall it was helpful beyond what I imagined!
